I almost fought @Tuskys Supermarket

"My Name is Felix. I am deaf and dumb living with my Uncle and Aunt at Adams Arcade Nairobi. On Tuesday, 15th November 2015, my aunt sent me to get some items in the supermarket. We stay near two supermarkets. I did not find what I was looking for in the first supermarket and I had to walk further to the next supermarket – Tuskys Supermarket Adams Arcade". This was my first time shopping at this supermarket.

Worried about how I could communicate with staff, I got frisked by the security personnel who was very warm and happy, giving me a smile as I walked into the supermarket, picked my basket and started shopping.

The supermarket had huge human traffic than I was used to experience at the other supermarket, located near our house, I usually visit . I never gave that much thought, filled my basket and walked to the teller – who was smiling at every person she was attending to.

It was finally my turn to hand in my basket to be billed, I was loving every single bit because all from the entrance, every member of the staff seems to be in a happy mood got me a bit confused because I was not used to this kind of treatment in the supermarket. I looked at the bill and gave the teller 1000 Shillings.

She smiled back at me and said something that changed everything. Very big communication barrier. Since we were not communicating she called the supervisor and that when I knew things are really bad. To me I thought they were saying I had not paid and I kept insisting I had paid and even showed my receipt. I was very mad and was almost walking away because we were not communicating.

That's when the supervisor signaled me to walk with him to the customer care desk. He wrote some stuff on a piece of paper and handed it over to me. When I read, it was saying I go back before 8:00PM and that I had won something. That is the time I cooled my tempers. To cut the long story short, I do not regret shopping at Tuskys any bit because they were very warm, caring and patient enough with me during a time I did not understand what they were trying to tell me. Above all, I spent around 700 shillings and went back to spend the voucher worth 500 shillings which I had won.

I apologize to the teller, supervisor and the manager who were very understanding and receptive. I thank Susan (The warm and beautiful teller, John the supervisor smart enough to communicate to me on paper and Paul, the Manager who explained to me there was a promotion where if you spend more than 500 shillings, you stand a chance of winning 500 Shillings, One thousand shillings or Ten Thousand Shillings.) We really do have real deals @Tuskys – They just won me over from their competition just because they helped me understand what was going on Ahsante Sana TUSKYS. "

That is Felix story as interpreted by He's Uncle Ayub. Looking at the social media, Tusks fans are happy and are getting vouchers across the country.

Do not miss the opportunity and if you still don't believe me, check what people are saying on their Facebook page and twitter handle.

I have compiled photos in the below gallery for all the doubting thomas'. Hurry and shop to your nearest Tuskys Supermarket.
